Lamp manufacturers are some of our most important customers, and we systematically develop customized materials for their technical innovations. However, we also look to react to the latest trends in lamp and lighting design. And that’s why we seek to develop links with high-profile designers such as Berlin-based Susanne Philippson. She has made a name for herself internationally with work on furniture, lighting and interiors, receiving accolades such as the YDMI Award (Young Designers Meet the Industry). Philippson uses Makrofol® in numerous lamp designs and values in particular its extremely uniform light scatter and excellent digital printability. One of her successful designs is for “JOIIN” lights. Up to three bent and textile-laminated polycarbonate films of different sizes enclose the light source as lampshades, creating the impression of a meandering strip of light.
