The main strengths of Makrofol® DP1208 are its high transparency, impact resistance and easy processing. The new polycarbonate film is tailor-made for protective eyewear applications. It can be used to produce sports, leisure and sun glasses, protective eyewear for the workplace, and visors for motorcycle and police helmets. As well as good UV stability, this film also boasts impressive strength and stiffness, ensuring that glasses and visors have excellent mechanical stability. It also offers good resistance to many greases, acids and mineral oils – a crucial factor for applications in the field of occupational health and safety. The high-gloss film is highly suitable for mechanical connection to metals, and has good bonding and welding properties with thermoplastics and rubber. We offer a comprehensive, customized service to deal with any queries about coating the film. The new film complies with DIN EN 170 and DIN EN 166 standards. It is available in thicknesses of 0.75 and 1 millimeter. Special thicknesses can be supplied on request.
