[New magnetizable screen printing ink - 2D printing with a 3D-look]

Year: 2009

Part design:

The new magnetic-effect ink NORIPHAN® HTR 3D INK from Pröll KG is applied as a twodimensional finish using screen printing technology but produces color images that appear three dimensional to the human eye. It is ideal for adding further “3D” effects to 3D parts manufactured with Makrofol® and Bayfol® using FIM process. It is available in a metallic silver color. Additional metallic colors can be achieved by mixing the new ink with standard transparent inks.
Large symbols and lettering can be printed as “3D motifs” against a background containing patterns that appear three-dimensional such as checkered sheet metal. This can be used to design cockpit displays and rocker panels in the automotive sector, for instance. Excellent opportunities also exist for switches and keypads for household appliances and membrane switches. The “3D” effect also offers benefits for the printing, electrical/electronics and mechanical engineering industries. Potential applications include non-movement gearshift knobs that appear to have a raised effect. Detailed information on the new ink can be found at www.proell.de.
