[New polycarbonate film with increased surface conductivity]

Year: 2008

Part design:

As the printing industry and manufacturers of translucent plastic components know only too well, plastic films often become electrostatically charged during processing – a problem that leads to a significant amount of waste. The films attract dust, which becomes annoyingly visible when the component is back-lit. When the film is printed, disruption in the color sequences may occur.
If film sheets are processed, the machine often picks up several sheets at once as they stick to one another. Enter the new Makrofol® DP 1304 polycarbonate film with its increased surface conductivity. The film’s surface resistance is only 1010 to 1011 Ohm – instead of the 1015 Ohm and above of a standard PC film. This largely suppresses electrostatic charges.
