Light and lightweight design go hand in hand for the Italian lighting manufacturer Luceplan. Many of the company’s creations require special materials with properties that are able to meet these design standards. That is why Luceplan has been working with us for 20 years, for example on a new version of the elegant “Costanza” light. The light’s key components are a slimline aluminum base and a diffuser lampshade made from Makrofol®. The main advantages of this transparent polycarbonate film are its outstanding light diffusion and scattered light effect – essential for effective backlit technology. The film’s good heat resistance and excellent graphic quality also play a key role. What sets the light apart for both private and corporate use is the fact that, despite cool-looking materials, it still emits a warm, cozy glow. Luceplan is also using this effect for the Costanza’s big sister – “Grande Costanza” – which will primarily be used for lighting public buildings such as museums all around the world.
