The new PC film Makrofol® DP1244 exhibits unusually high UV resistance. It exceeds the strict requirements set by the SAE-J 1885 norm of the Society of Automotive Engineers concerning the yellowing stability of plastic surfaces in automobile interiors. This is one of the key reasons why the film is now being used in the new compact Aygo from Toyota to produce back-lit heating and ventilation control panels by film insert molding.

The film is highly stable owing its thin UV protective layer, which is applied using extrusion. The know-how in this area comes from producing weather-resistant PC sheets for the construction industry. As the protective layer also consists of PC, the typical properties of Makrofol®, such as high transparency, heat resistance and dimensional stability, are retained.
